Cleaning a Fabric Couch
Fabric couches are popular for their comfort, but they can be a bit trickier to clean. Here’s how to tackle stains and grime effectively:
- Vacuum Thoroughly
Start by vacuuming every surface of the couch, including cushions and crevices. This removes dust and loose debris. - Spot Clean with Vinegar
Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray on stained areas and blot gently. Avoid scrubbing, as this can spread stains. - Dish Soap or Carpet Cleaner for Stubborn Stains
If vinegar isn’t enough, use mild dish soap on a damp cloth or a carpet cleaner to gently clean tougher spots. - Apply Baking Soda
Sprinkle baking soda over any lingering stains, lightly mist with water, let it dry, and vacuum it up. - Steam Clean if Possible
Use a fabric steamer to loosen dirt and stains, followed by a gentle detergent or vinegar solution.
